I love October baseball. It was during a summer camping trip in the mid 1970s, though, that I first discovered the game. Those hot, lazy days by the river listening to the radio broadcasts with my dad and other male members of my family were the beginning of my love affair with the game. Unlike the 70s, when it seemed it was mostly men and boys who followed the game, now I watch and listen with female friends and co-workers as well as males.
